About Issyk-Kul

Issyk-Kul stretches 182 kilometres across Kyrgyzstan—a sapphire-coloured alpine lake surrounded by 5,000-metre snowcapped peaks. The lake's pristine water reflects mountains creating perfect symmetry at sunrise. Ancient cities rest underwater; nomadic yurts dot the shores. The lake never freezes despite high altitude (1,607 metres).
